Real stories from a transformative journey

Signing up for your Workshops was going to be a bit challenging trying to fit it into my schedule, but as an herbalist, I knew that I didn't want to miss a golden opportunity, particularly in the field of plant language. I switched my vitamin C to Rose hips. AARP had an article with Roses in it. Even the bag of sandy dirt needed to plant a red yucca had a large Rose on it.

And although I keep on hand Dandelion, Nettles, Yarrow, and more recently Hawthorn, it's been a while since I've had Mugwort—she's never leaving my side again—and Elderberry, which I've only previously had a horrible experience.

During your class I learned to appreciate Rose and all of the herbs with greater admiration. And as far as our backyard, I decided to learn to give her all the love and respect she deserves. Thanks for the hard work pulling this series together.

I just wanted to express my gratitude to you Tara for the beautiful seven week journey we got to take with you and the amazing plant allies you brought forward.

Tara's heart and soul and deep love and connection to each of the plants we worked with was so apparent in every class. Her devotion to helping us remember our 'oneness' with all was a true gift. And the recipes were a true inspiration! I have not strayed, before this class, much beyond basic tinctures and glycerites. I now have vinegars steeping, and bitters brewing, among other things.

And I look forward to trying out the culinary treasures she shared with us this summer! Her Rose petal drink is already a favorite! I just got her book and look forward to diving in! Thank you again so much!

Marianne

Since my son was born 50 years ago, I have collected petals of roses that commemorate significant events in my life—birth, marriage, birthdays, graduations. They sit in a jar of potpourri that is still as energetic and fragrant as when they were fresh.

I noticed that my body's shift into positivity with the rose tea is lasting whether I'm drinking the tea or not. Magical! So grateful to have your expertise and wisdom. Thank you. Can hardly wait for the rest of the training!

Just a note to express my heartfelt gratitude for you and your online workshop. Your teaching and insight were such important catalysts on my plant path, I cannot say thank you enough! I have to admit, I really miss having your class to look forward to each week. Your genuine care and wonder for plants is so inspiring, and you opened my eyes to the ways plants are here for us—not just in the practical ways we commonly learn. I feel a strong pull to the natural world, and am excited for what is yet to come and where this will lead me (and all of your students)!

I am now exploring your beautiful, beautiful book, Foraged & Grown, and am feeling inspired all over again. The photos are delicious enough to eat right off the page. They truly are healing, magical recipes!

You have succeeded in creating a bridge to the awe-inspiring world of nature—not just your book, but you yourself, both as a teacher and as an inspiration through sharing your still unfolding story. Thank you!

About your host & Guide

Welcome! I am the founder and guide of The Medicine Circle Apprenticeship. After decades of apprenticeship, study, healing, and direct experience myself, I created this sacred space and community so you can have everything you need in one place!

From building your herbal apothecary at home, to bringing the herbs into your daily meals with culinary herbalism, food-as-medicine practices, directly learning with herbal wisdom keepers all over the world, and easily bringing that knowledge into your home and life. This is the bridge to what is inherent in all of us.

With over 20 years as an organic farmer, herbalist, teacher, and author, I walk this path with lived devotion, bringing real life experience to every class and interaction.

Beyond teaching our classes, I will be present throughout your yearlong apprenticeship journey—actively engaged in our private Medicine Circle Community located inside the course, answering your questions, supporting your growth, and holding space for our circle to deepen together.

I bring joy, wonder, and a lifetime of learning about the natural world to my classes, and welcome you to join us on this transformational journey!
